where the red fern grows *may give away parts of story warning*
where the red fern grows is one of the best books ive read in while it is very anticipating your wondering whats going to happen next or is he going to get this . i strongly recommend this book to dog lovers and if you do not want to hear about other things dieing like raccoons then this is not the book for you but i like this book because it shows how much a kid loves his dogs and how bad he wants one. i agree with every decision that he makes by going out and getting his dogs instead of waiting for them, cutting down the biggest trees so the dogs can get that coon so i think the main character loves his dogs aand will do anything to make sure that they stay alive

do you think that there are underlying themes that connect to other books or works you have experienced? I also loved this book when I read it. I think you would LOVE Summer of the Monkeys. It is another great book that addressed the relationships between animals and humans.
ReplyDeletewell i don't know about the dieing of the raccoon but i think this book shows compasion and and caring of what he really loves. i'm guessing that this is a heart-warming book. i think the character is brave and has alot of courage to go out in the world and find his dog. :]
